I don't have Stephane's autoconf source, so for the time being any modifications I make to the source code will probably be distributed as patches to the 2.5 distribution.

The near-term goals of this project are as follows:

• Adress the autoconf issue.
• Upgrade to GLU 1.2
• Provide a GLU_TESS_COMBINE callback which automatically deals with self-intersecting font outlines.
• Create documentation for public APIs using doxygen.

The long-term goals of this project are as follows:

• Upgrade to FreeType 2.0 when it becomes stable.
